The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB steals the performance show

GLB series features two models—the 250 4MATIC and AMG GLB 35. The 250 includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Despite the power, the 250 achieves a fuel consumption rating of 10.3 / 7.8 L/100 km (city highway). This includes standard all-wheel drive that is ready for Canada's roads and weather conditions. 

The BMW X1 also includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that results in similar performance to the 250 4MATIC. However, everything changes when it is compared to the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLB 35. 

The GLB 35 upgrades to a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that results in 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both Mercedes-Benz engines pair with a quick-shifting, eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The BMW X1 does not have a DCT. 

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB is more family-friendly

Although the GLB is classified as a compact SUV, there is plenty of room and versatility that adapts to your lifestyle. 

The GLB provides enough interior passenger volume to have an available third row of seats. This is especially popular with growing families who need the capacity to match up with what the day demands, whether it's hauling the hockey team or the entire family for a vacation. 

Each GLB offers up to 1,755 litres of cargo volume behind the front seats—with the remaining rows folded. This amounts to nearly 100 more litres than the BMW X1. And with 560 litres of capacity behind the second row, it's easy to load up your extras and have peace of mind on trips that count.
