2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE: Luxury paired with performance

The Mercedes-Benz GLE has been one of the most important luxury mid-sized SUVs offered in Canada both in terms of its popularity and its innovation. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE is a brand-new generation of Mercedes-Benz’ popular luxury sport utility vehicle. It hit the market last year with a completely redesigned look, impressive technologies, more space, and more power. It’s exactly what you want from your mid-size premium SUV.

A multitude of engine options

Starting at around $64,000, the new Mercedes-Benz GLE is currently offered in a multitude of models starting with the GLE 350 4Matic. You can also get the GLE 450 with a 362-horsepower engine.

That said, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4Matic could be considered the most interesting trim in the GLE family. Powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 reaches 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and posts an average fuel consumption rating of less than 10.0 liters per 100 kilometers thanks to an efficient 9-speed automatic gearbox. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE can also tow up to 3,500 kilos. Available for less money than the GLE’s direct competitors, it doesn’t require the owner to compromise on performance or capability.

If you want even more performance with more aggressive handling and a much sportier sound, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 and GLE 63 S are here for you. Both offer exceptional performance from either a turbocharged six-cylinder a twin-turbo V8. The GLE 53 reaches 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds with 429 horsepower on tap while the GLE 63 S has 603 horsepower, good enough to reach 100 km/h in under four seconds.

The interior has gained quite a bit of refinement, no doubt about that. The new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE has more space than ever, and its dashboard is more refined and luxurious than any other previous generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLE. It gets its inspiration from the dashboard found in the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class among others and features dual digital screens that provide a host of information. The GLE also includes the state-of-the-art MBUX system which uses advanced voice controls to give the driver total control over the various functions just by speaking naturally.
