2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE: something new under the sun

In the mid-size luxury SUV segment, there is a king and it's the Mercedes-Benz GLE. This model, which has been on the market since 1997, has managed to establish itself over the years and since it has been improved with each redesign, it has become a must-have throughout the industry.

In fact, with it, you don't wonder if it's missing something, but rather if there's something it's not offering; the equipment is that complete.

And even more so for 2022, where a few tweaks are made, both visually and in terms of what is offered. In fact, the most remarkable thing is the arrival of a new variant with the coupe version of the model, the 450 (with AMG aesthetic touches, different). Until now, the latter was only available in 53 AMG and 63 AMG S configurations.

The 2022 GLE is also available with the regular body, this time in four ways. We're actually adding the base 350 version to the offering.

What do all these numbers mean?

The numbers for the different models refer to the mechanics that serve them. And as you can see, we have a lot of choice.

The 350 model features a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that offers 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. It's a very interesting way to get started.

With a 450 variant, we get a 6-cylinder turbo engine that's entitled to light hybridization. The capacity here is 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Passing the AMG 53 livery, we get a derivative of this engine, so the capacity increases to 429 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque.

Finally, with an AMG 63 S approach, it's all about the 4-liter twin-turbo V8. Because of the electrical input that also benefits this engine, the horsepower is increased to 603 and 627 lb-ft of torque.

A nine-speed automatic transmission is present throughout the lineup.

As if all that weren't enough, once inside, you get the best-engineered interior in the class. First, the visual presentation is magnificent and the clarity of the screens (instruments and multimedia) is stunning. The whole thing hides the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system, one of the most impressive in the industry. As for the comfort of the seats and the vehicle in general, it's perfect.

And the beauty of it is that there is a 2022 GLE for every taste, need and budget. Each one has its own demeanor and temperament, while each one serves the same quality, the same practicality.

Really, if you haven't taken the time to discover the GLE yet, stop by for an in-depth analysis.
