The two-speed rear transmission pairs dynamics with efficiency: first gear for rapid acceleration, second gear for highway power delivery and maximum range. Recuperation power has increased by a third to 385 kW, returning more energy during braking. In everyday driving, braking can be achieved almost entirely through recuperation alone, adjustable via steering wheel paddles or the gear selector.

The EQS features AIRMATIC air suspension with cloud-based damper regulation that automatically adjusts before reaching speed bumps. Standard rear-axle steering enhances stability at higher speeds by steering rear wheels parallel to the front.
