The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB: A New Approach to the Luxury SUV

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB is the newest SUV to hit the market in the Mercedes-Benz lineup and offers features rarely seen in a luxury sport utility. The reality is that the GLB has very little competition. No other luxury SUV, whether BMW, Audi, Lexus or Volvo can offer so much space in such a compact size with so much luxury at such an affordable price.

Performance, space and luxury combine in the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB is offered in two trims, the GLB 250 and the AMG GLB 35. Both come standard with 4Matic all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both also feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but the power difference between the two is the number one differentiator.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 comes standard with 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque - enough power to hit 60 mph in just 6.9 seconds. Despite its impressive power, the GLB 250 consumes just 7.8 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway. Buying a luxury SUV doesn't mean seeing your fuel bill skyrocket.

The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4Matic pushes horsepower to 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Needless to say, the sensations are there. The AMG GLB 35 reaches 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds while dropping exceptional sound from its four tailpipes. The GLB 35 also stands out from the GLB 250 with a sportier look and a more distinctive aerodynamic package.

Both models offer plenty of room, more room than their rivals. With 1,805 liters of total cargo space, the GLB has enough room to offer a third row of seats not found elsewhere in this segment. These spaces will be used as backup or to accommodate young children, and if you don't need them they can be placed in the trunk floor. You will then have a large cargo area capable of accommodating all the essentials of everyday life, all your sports equipment or all your purchases at IKEA without a problem.

On the road, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB offers a smooth ride while being very dynamic in the corners. Its lower center of gravity gives it stable, predictable and sporty handling that will be appreciated by driving enthusiasts.
