This is the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

The new Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is the latest electric vehicle from Mercedes-Benz, but it is a lot more than just a new EV. It’s a premium, flagship sport utility vehicle with a fully electric powertrain from Mercedes-Benz that, with the EQS sedan, ushers in a new era of ultra-luxury and electrification for Mercedes-Benz and its clients.

Mercedes-Benz SUVs are by far the most popular vehicles in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, and we expect the EQS SUV to continue that trend. The new EQS SUV is based on the EQS sedan with many of the same features, but it offers a more versatile and practical interior that delivers both comfort and advanced technology.

There will be two versions for Canada, the EQS SUV 450 4Matic and the EQS SUV 580 4Matic. Every Canadian EQS SUV will feature all-wheel drive despite some markets getting single-motor RWD models. There will plenty of power in both versions, but of course the 580 will be the flagship with 536 hp. The EQS SUV 450 gets 355 horsepower.

The battery lineup is yet to be confirmed, but Mercedes-Benz says top-of-the-line models will get 108 kWh of battery power, which should translate into 600 kilometres of range. This means more range for the SUV than the EQS sedan which has 547 km of range in its top trim. The EQS SUV can charge at up to 200 kW.

The EQS SUV shares the same wheelbase as the EQS sedan, but there’s quite a bit more cargo space. There will be space for either 5 or 7 passagers with cargo space ranging from 645 litres to 565. As for the rest of the interior, the SUV is very similar to the sedan with a large centre HYPERSCREEN display featuring a 12.3-inch centre display, a 17.7-inch central screen, and a 12.3-inch passenger screen.

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV will arrive on the market this winter with pricing coming this summer.
